Alstom presents wind power solutions at Brazil Wind Power 2010
31 Aug 2010Alstom will exhibit its equipment, solutions and market expertise at Brazil Wind Power 2010, 31 August to 2 September, in Rio de Janeiro. This is the first event dedicated to the wind power market in Latin America to be held in Brazil. Wind industry leaders worldwide will attend to better understand the Latin American potential in this area.
Alstom starts to deliver the new signalling system for the São Paulo driverless metro
23 Aug 2010In accordance with a contract signed with the State of São Paulo in July 2008, Alstom begins to deliver the fully automated control system for the lines 1, 2 and 3 of São Paulo Metro. The contract implies the complete renovation of the existing train control of these 3 lines (signaling, operational control center, telecommunications, infrastructure, multimedia, access control and maintenance), with the supply of Urbalis, Alstom’s CBTC system (network integrating radio technology).
Alstom wins first contract in the Brazilian wind market
12 July 2010Alstom has signed a contract worth €100 million with the Brazilian renewable power generating company, Desenvix, subsidiary of the Engevix engineering group, to build a 90 MW wind farm complex in Bahia, Brazil. With the working name of “Brotas”, the complex will consist of three wind farms - Macaubas, Novo Horizonte and Seabra - and represents Alstom’s first contract in the Brazilian wind market. This contract has been booked in 1st quarter FY 2010/11.

Alstom wins contracts worth around €450 million to build two combined cycle gas units for a power plant in India

Alstom has been awarded two contracts, worth approximately €450 million in total, by Indian private utility GVK Industries to build two units at the new Jegurupadu III combined cycle power plant in East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh state, India.
